Hello and welcome to another Blue Fire Massively Multiplayer Online Video Game review. Todays review is about the "Revolution of Action" called Cabal Online.
Introduction
When you make a Free 2 Play MMORPG, you have to expect to make something that stands out of the crowd and not make some that's mostly the same. Space Cowboy Online (Which is now called Ace Online due to a production rights, switch off) for example did things differently that other online games, in which case, the game wasn't all about leveling up your character in order to equip that shiney new piece of equipment, although that still played a role in Ace, it was all about the exciting dogfights. Ghost Online, made by MGame, was one of the first side-scrolling MMORPGs available on the market, but Maplestory got translated first and in my opinion, left a bad first impression on the whole MMO side-scrolling genre, but then I played Ghost and it was all good and happy happy joy joy...*ahem*...anyways, my point is that if you expect to make a good game, expect alot of nitpicking at what your going to make, you don't want it be the same like EVERY other F2P (Free 2 Play) game out there *cough*Hero Online*cough*...*cough*Corum*cough*!!! Sorry, had to cough there, I got a slight allergy problem. ^_^
Gameplay
Cabal Alz promised us a unique gaming experience and it delivered. You have 6 classes to choose from (But I'll get there in a minute) and all of them have unique ways of playing the game. You also have a wide variety of equipment, skills and spells that you can equip to make your character more powerful. The twist is that you can only equip a certain amount of skills and spells before you can't equip anymore and would have to swap a skill out, Plus you are able to get a full refund on skill point you put on these skills in exchange for some money, in which case, your character customization gets more flexible. You are also able to equip anything you want but if you want the full benefits, you need to equip the gear your assigned to. Gameplay is quite different and has an action game feel (Wow, it's as if they did it on purpose!!! O.O). What I mean by this is that while you attack by continuously press the normal attack skill button it was assigned (Or you could just turn on auto attack if your lazy =P) you can also string together combos with other skills. The only thing is that it only counts as a "combo" if you initiate the combo sequence which you need to get to level 10 to use, once you get level 20, you get your aura power which pretty much an uber buff that makes you an unstoppable killing machine. At level 30 you get your first Battle Mode which allows you to summon a "specialty weapon". For example, the Warrior, who uses mostly really big sword ala Cloud from Final Fantasy 7. When you use your Battle Mode, you summon a Specktral Scythe!!! Once you reach level 40 you'll get your next battle mode which I haven't gotten to yet but I THINK that's it's specialty ARMOR.
